July’s Calendar

New pricing for DDI goes into effect on July 2nd, so if you want another year at a reduced cost get it in before then. July looks to be a tiny, tiny month, since the lack of Friday content means that there is a wide gulf between now and the psion debut (not a playtest), due for the first Monday.

Thats really all we have to look forward to that day, but since its supposed to be the finalized version I guess I’ll live with it (and try it out). There is a mystery Class Acts article, Familiars of Eberron, a bestiary to shoehorn the Legendary Evils minis that arent actual monsters into the game, something called Airspur, and finally Disciples of Vengeance.

I can say that I’m looking forward to Familiars of Eberron and the psion, and since I’m still only paying $5/month its good enough for me considering that it’ll be out in time for an Eberron campaign set in the Shadow Marches (which will demand a lot from the article on fell taints).

June Editorial Calendar

June’s calendar is up. Mondays and Fridays are Eberron Player’s Guide excerpts, but I could give a fuck less about City of the Dead. However, couple those with Divine Power and Eberron Campaign Guide excerpts, and its a good month even for the non-subscribers.

I’m eager as usual to see what gets thrown into the Ampersand column, but there are a few other highlights to look foward to as well:

  • Ecology of the Rust Monster
  • Design & Development
  • Ruling Skill Challenges
  • Playing Revenants
  • Dungeoncraft
  • Class Acts: Bard
  • Playtest: MM3

April Editorial

April’s calendar is finally up. We get wall-to-wall Arcane Power excerpts until the second week, after which we start getting stuff from Monster Manual 2. I’m surprised that its been almost a year since 4th Edition was released, but time flies when you are working full time, going to school full time, and playing D&D far more than you ever did before.

It looks like that the Penny Arcade podcast wraps up at the 8th, that being the 8th episode. Its been a good run so far, and I’m hoping that they give it a third go in the future.

There’s a PH3 preview on the list, followed by a dual class-playtest. I was never a fan of dual-classing in the past, since it caused you to drag really far behind the rest of the gang, but then 4E has made a lot of crappy things awesome.

Finally, we get an article on familiars (glee!), ecology of the deva, and an orc creature incarnation. Looks to be yet another entertaining month.

DDI: March Calendar

The March calendar is up, and the content looks nice.

Ever since they dropped a third of the bard and summoning magic into one of the Ampersand columns, I’ve been looking forward to those.

The PA/PvP podcasts are getting rolled out on the same day Dungeon gets updating, so now I have a reason to look forward to those.

Sharns are apparently getting an ecology article, which has reminded me to figure out a way to include them in my non-Forgotten Realms campaign.

Not sure what The Art of the Kill is all about, but my guess is assassin-themed exploits. Same goes with the Bestiary article. They should really put a name with that so we have an idea of what to expect.

I’m interested in the Design & Development and Party Building 101 articles, but then I’m a sucker for design content.

Also, there is a playtest for Martial Power 2 coming out at the end of the month.

Its shaping up to be a good month, especially since the term ends about the time PH2 comes out.
